4 chipotle peppers in adobo sauce

4 teaspoons minced garlic

4 teaspoons ground cumin

1 teaspoon ground black pepper

1 teaspoon salt

½ teaspoon ground cloves

1 (4 pound) chuck roast

¾ cup chicken broth

3 bay leaves
