1 onion

thinly sliced

1 apple

peeled and grated

½ lemon

juiced

1 tablespoon vegetable oil

1 pinch white sugar

salt and ground black pepper to taste

Bring 1 quart water to a boil in a large pot; add cabbage and cook until softened 2 to 4 minutes. Drain.
