½ cup orange juice

3 tablespoons olive oil

2 tablespoons red wine vinegar

½ teaspoon ground black pepper

¼ teaspoon salt

1 large head romaine lettuce - torn

washed and dried

3 (11 ounce) cans mandarin oranges

½ cup slivered almonds
