He sampled many of them from almost all the Mexican restaurants here in town...and came up with his own way of making them. Now he doesn't even bother ordering them out anymore.

Joe's Famous Michelada Recipe

Ingredients

coarse salt for rim of mug

or as needed

ice cubes

¼ teaspoon salt

1 lemon

juiced

1 dash hot pepper sauce (such as Tabasco®)

or to taste

½ teaspoon soy sauce

1 ½ cups tomato and clam juice cocktail (such as Clamato®)

or as needed

½ cup cold beer

Step 1

Dip the rim of a chilled 1-pint mug or schooner into coarse salt and fill the mug with ice cubes. Add 1/4 teaspoon of salt lemon juice hot pepper sauce and soy sauce. Pour in the tomato and clam juice cocktail top up the mug with beer and stir gently. As you drink you can keep topping up your mug with more beer.
